MISSIONS is a new Managed Service Provider which targets charitable and non-profit organizations that serve the disadvantaged as well as providing its services to corporate environments. Their business model calls for network, systems and desktop engineering, management and support as well as remote control Help Desk.
"The value for us is lowering the barrier to our services. The lower the cost barrier to our services, the more services we sell and the more profit we retain."
The entire MISSIONS service delivery model is founded upon ubiquitous, inexpensive, secure connectivity between their clients and their GNOCs. They are looking to the OSDC ISCS project to make this a reality. "ISCS will dramatically lower the initial cost of taking on a new client as well as the ongoing cost of maintaining that client. If we can lower the up front costs associated with delivering our service, we eliminate a possible deal killer. The value proposition for us is that an investment in ISCS lowers the barriers to delivering our services. When we sell more services and keep the margin for ourselves rather than handing it over to our network security software vendor, we easily justify our investment. That's especially important for our target clientèle who are always desperately short of cash."
As MISSIONS consolidates its core service business, it plans to use other projects supported by OSDC to provide Applications Services such as E-mail, ERP/CRM, Knowledge Management, Secure Instant Messaging and Accounting based upon open source solutions. These will help to both reduce costs for their cash constrained clients and generate additional revenue streams for MISSIONS.
